問：2019年3月15日，弟子禮拜菩薩完畢坐下念經時，阿彌陀佛聖號不斷在空中響起。不久，意識陷入昏睡，魂體被金光帶到冥界。判官押了四個畜生道的靈體來到閻王殿。
判官：『童子，這是白鬚公魚、烏龜、螃蟹和貓的靈體。』
Enquiry:
On the 15th of March 2019, when I finished paying my respects to the Buddha and went to sit down and recite sutras, the murmuring and echo of Amitabha’s sagely name continually rang in the air. Not long after, my consciousness fell into a deep slumber. My spirit was enveloped inside a golden light, and I was taken to the underworld. In front of the judge, four animal spirits were waiting inside Yama’s court.
The judge said, “Honoured guest. Here we have the spirit of a catfish, a turtle, a crab and a cat.”
白鬚公魚靈體：『我是一個漁夫，住在X市淡水河附近，是一個小村落。附近的居民都是靠捕撈河裡活物販賣養活一家幾口人。我生前經常捕撈白鬚公魚拿去菜市場販賣。死後，跌落地獄，在一個山洞裡，鬼差拿刮鱗刀刮我肚皮，懲戒我捕捉大量魚類，這是殺業的果報。山洞出來後，來到一個很兇很黑的人面前（閻王爺），那個人說我靈體罪孽黑氣還有48%，所以讓我轉投為白鬚公魚X百世。』
The catfish said, “I was a fisherman, and I lived near a freshwater river in [City X] in a small village. My neighbours all depended on catching live sea animals from the river to support their family. When I was alive, I frequently caught catfish and sold it at the markets. After I died, I descended into hell. And in a cave, the executioners would take a knife and cut through my belly. It served as punishment for catching lots of fish; it was the karmic retribution of killing. After I was released, I was brought to a very intimidating person (Yama), and he said that my negative karmic ratio was still 48% and he sentenced me to be reincarnated into a catfish for hundreds of lifetimes.
螃蟹靈體：『我是黑道人物，以前在X縣的居民都叫我‘大老虎’，由於生前做太多壞事（走私白粉，開地下賭場、非法按摩院），被黑道人物槍殺後（幫派內鬥）被帶去很多地獄（糞池地獄，懲戒色情行業按摩院；電眼地獄，懲戒和按摩女郎淫亂；火燒地獄，懲戒毒品和賭場斂財罪業）。地獄出來後再次審判時，閻王說我在陽世常把人打到死去活來，把我靈體打散變成螃蟹，懲戒我做人橫行霸道。』
The crab said, “I was in the triad. In the past, the residents of [County X] nicknamed me ‘Great Tiger’. Because I committed many unwholesome deeds in my previous life (drug smuggling, opened underground gambling rings, opened illegal massage parlours), after I was killed by other triad members (infighting ), I was taken to many hells (hell of excrement to punish me for opening illegal massage parlours, which I was, in fact, supplying prostitutes; hell of ghost-eye to punish me for having casual sex with the female masseurs; hell of blazing flames to punish me for making money from selling drugs and gambling). After I was released from hell and judged again, Yama said that because I would beat up people fatally when I was alive, he will scatter my spirit and sentence me to become a crab. It was to punish me for acting in a tyrannous manner against law and reason.”
貓靈體：『我年紀18歲時嫁給同村的一個男子，年紀和我差不多。生了五個孩子，我老公文化不高，我識字也不多，生活很清苦。我羡慕身邊姐妹嫁得比我好，怨自己沒有嫁個好一點的家庭。後來，同村一個大舅婆見我漂亮，把我介紹給一個富商做小姨，我為了住大屋子擺脫貧困環境答應了。剛開始托人把一些生活費用交給孩子父親就算了事，後來乾脆不管孩子，也沒有去註冊局離婚。60多歲壽終往生就被拉到鐵床地獄躺鐵床，天天後背被火烤，懲戒我為了虛榮拋棄孩子和丈夫，這個在我信奉的宗教中是絕對不允許的，可是我沒有好好遵守。地獄出來後轉投貓，因為貓的習性是被人供養戲耍——成為別人包養情婦的果報。』
The cat said, “When I was 18, I was married to a guy in the village I lived in. His age was roughly the same as mine. I gave birth to five children. My husband’s academic qualifications weren’t high, and he didn’t know many words, so we were quite poor. I admired my female friends, all of whom had found themselves a better husband than I did. I resented that I didn’t marry into a better family. Later, there was an elderly couple in the village who saw that I was pretty, and so introduced me to a wealthy businessman to become his mistress. For the sake of escaping from poverty and live a luxurious life, I accepted. In the beginning, I would entrust somebody to send some living expenses to my children and husband, and see it as a task done. Then, later on, I completely disregarded my children, and I didn’t even bother to file for a divorce. I passed away at age 60, and then I was taken to the hell of iron beds and laid on top of it. Every day my back would be roasted by the flames, it was to punish me for abandoning my children and husband for the sake of vanity. It was also something not approved of by the religion that I believed. It was forbidden, but I didn’t adhere to the disciplinary rules. After I was released from hell, I reincarnated into a cat. It’s because cats have a habit of wanting to be played with and offered to. That was the karmic retribution of being a mistress to a married person.”
烏龜靈體：『我是一個佛教居士。生前在觀音庵裡做打掃，幾年過後庵裡出家師父見我虔誠老實，讓我幫忙處理庵中事物。出家法師往生後，我開始不老實，偷拿信眾供養給觀音庵的錢財物品。死掉過後，被帶去火燒地獄懲戒，燒我雙手（斂財）。地獄懲戒完後，閻王說我不知感恩佛菩薩恩德，貪取佛廟錢財，讓我轉投烏龜，趴在地上不能見人。』
判官：『童子可以回去了。』
說完，魂體被金光送回陽間。感恩師父，感恩觀世音菩薩。
弟子 2019-03-16
The turtle said, “I was a Buddhist layperson. When I was alive, I would take part in the cleaning of the Guan Yin Temple. After a few years, because the master of the temple saw that I was sincere and honest, he let me deal with the temple duties. After he died, I started to deviate, and I stole the offerings and donated gifts from the Guan Yin Temple. After I died, I was taken to the hell of blazing flames to be punished, and both my hands were burnt for stealing. After my punishment in hell was over, Yama said that I was ungrateful for the grace of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and enriched myself with the resources of the temple. So I was to be reincarnated into a turtle and crawl on the ground, unable to lift my head to see people.”
The judge said, “Honoured guest, you can return now.”
Then my spirit was enveloped in a golden light, and I returned to the living realm. I’m grateful Master; I’m grateful to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.

答：這個人很厲害，人家說：『地獄童子』，現在專門下去聽閻王爺給她講這些受懲戒的事情。所以在人間不要做壞事，人不會死掉的，魂魄不死，有的受苦了。就像你睡著了，不要以為睡著了就什麼都不知道了，做夢害怕吧？不要做壞事，沒意思。
Master’s reply:
This person is incredible. People say that she’s the golden child of hell. Now she specialises in going down to listen to the sentencing and punishment that Yama gives. That’s why you mustn’t do unwholesome deeds. Humans won’t die; the spirit is undying. You only suffer. Just like when you fall asleep, don’t think that just because you’re asleep, you don’t feel anything. Aren’t you scared when you’re having nightmares? Don’t do unwholesome deeds; it’s meaningless.
